April Reading: The Handmaid’s Tale

I decided that every month I will pick a book to read at my leisure. It’s kind of like my own personal book club. For the month of April I have chosen to read Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. This is a dystopian novel which explores the roles of women in a society made of various castes and classes. It explores the subjugation of women and examines themes of religion and resistance. After purchasing this book I was glad to discover that Hulu has created a show of the same novel. So if you are interested in a great and vital read, pick up this book and read it before the show (if you decide to watch it).
